    ABOUT

    Brooke-Erin Smith (she/her) is originally from Northeast Tennessee. She has performed across the country with Theatre South Carolina, St. Croix Festival Theatre, UCLA, and The Annoyance, among others. Her first full-length play, The Care and Feeding of Small Animals, has been performed with Relative Theatrics (Laramie, WY) and read with Mirrorbox Theatre (Cedar Rapids, IA), was shortlisted for publication in The Brooklyn Review, and was a semi-finalist for the 2021 Bay Area Playwrights Festival. Her short plays have been performed or read with Illinois State University, Green Room Productions, Little Red Theatre Company, and Wellesley College, among others. She was a finalist for the 2021 Echo Theater Company Young Playwrights in Residence program and a semi-finalist for the 2023 Goodman Playwrights Unit. She and her partner, Ryan, host Nation of Animation, a cartoon book club podcast on the AudioMint Podcast Network. Her second full-length play, Apple-at-cha: A Ghost Story, is currently in development.

    Brooke lives with her partner and their beautiful dog named Birdy!

    8.19.22 Brooke’s play Apple-at-cha: A Ghost Story was a semi-finalist for the Goodman Theatre’s 2023 Playwrights Unit.
